The Roots of the Community
AS COMMUNITIES began to develop around Potomac, MD in the post-World War II era, Carl Freeman broke ground on the now iconic Cabin John Mall & Shopping Center in 1967.
Since the middle of the 20th Century, the Potomac area has been a haven for generations of families focused on a balanced lifestyle, encompassed by work, activities, events and community. Cabin John Village has been and continues to serve as the central gathering place for the Potomac community— where stories are written, memories are created and meaningful connections are made.
Everyone Has A Story
AT CABIN JOHN VILLAGE, shopping and dining has consistently provided an opportunity for the community to come together. Since the opening in 1967 to the latest additions, including Sweetly Anchored Patisserie, CAVA and Sister’s Thai, retail and restaurants continue to be the social focus of this unique neighborhood. Catering to every generation, Cabin John Village remains a bustling, vibrant hub where every experience becomes another chapter in the story of the community.
The Next Evolution
BY UNDERSTANDING and honoring the rich history and vibrancy of Cabin John Village, EDENS’ redevelopment efforts are inspired by our evolving lifestyles— how we work, shop, engage and connect. EDENS enhancements to the property focus on people and the pedestrian experience. Through widened sidewalks, traffic calming, enhanced landscaping, newly created gathering places and smartly curated retail and restaurant offerings, we will continue to build upon Cabin John’s past and ensure that the community’s stories will be written for years to come.
